KB: Daily Check for Payment Terminal Connection (Morning Startup Guide)

Purpose

This guide helps staff verify that the payment terminal is properly connected to the POS system at the start of the day and explains how to manually re-add it if missing.


Step 1: Check Payment Terminal Connection

  1. Open the POS App
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select Manage Devices
  4. Look for the payment terminal in the device list
  5. Tap on the payment terminal

Verify IP Address

Ensure the IP address matches:

  • POS Payment Terminal Connection: 192.168.88.9
  • Payment Terminal Device: should also display 192.168.88.9

 If both match, proceed to testing.


Step 2: If Payment Terminal Does Not Appear

If the terminal is missing from the list, manually add it.

  1. In Manage Devices, tap Add New Device

Fill in the details below:

  • Name: payment terminal
  • IP Address: 192.168.88.9 (According to the payment terminal connected to the POS/Kiosk)
  • Connection Type: WiFi or Lan
  • Printer Type: Payment Terminal
  1. Tap Save

Step 3: Test Payment Terminal

After saving:

  1. Return to POS sales screen
  2. Create a small test sale
  3. Select Card Payment
  4. Confirm terminal responds normally

If terminal accepts payment prompt, connection is successful.


Troubleshooting

If still not connecting:

  • Reconfirm IP is 192.168.88.9
  • Ensure terminal is powered on
  • Ensure terminal is connected to WiFi
  • Restart POS app
  • Restart payment terminal

Expected Result

Staff should be able to process card payments immediately after morning checks.
